Emmanuel’s Social Action Committee is working with St. Aidan’s and St. Thomas the Apostle Anglican Churches to prepare Holiday Gift Bags. Emmanuel will be responsible for 35 bags for men who live in low-income housing in our neighbourhood. Bring your donations to Emmanuel by December 11th and place them in the Christmas paper wrapped box in the narthex. Monetary donations are welcome as well; donations of $20 or more can receive a charitable donation receipt if requested. Cheques should be made out to Emmanuel United Church. Each bag will include:
- Winter hat and scarf
- Pair of gloves or mitts
- Pair of winter socks
- Toothpaste (regular size)
- Toothbrush (soft)
- Dental floss (regular size)
- Deodorant (regular size)
- Bar of soap (regular size)
- 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner (regular size)
- Pen and pencil
- Unsigned holiday card
- Festive treat (Christmas candy, cookies, or chocolate (100-200 gm))
- Small present (Puzzle book, magazine, notebook, or pack of playing cards)
- Small stuff bag or shaving kit
- Disposable razers (2)
