October 25, 2026
You are invited
to explore the way we do worship
and
the music we include in worship services
at one of two workshops:
| 1 Following the worship service in the CE Hall Lunch will be served! Childcare will be provided! Plan is to have workshop completed by 1:00 p.m. | OR | 2 A Zoom workshop for those who worship on-line! Starting at 2:00 p.m. Here is the link for the ZOOM workshop https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82580439392 |
As you may be aware, we held a workshop, attended by 40 people, on June 27 to talk about who we think we are as a church community and who do we want to be. A summary of the discussions/presentations at that workshop is attached.
We talked about who we would like to be, but not how to get there. It was decided that we should hold shorter workshops with each focussing on a specific part of Emmanuel’s programs. Accordingly, we will be holding workshops after church on October 25 to explore the way we do worship and the types of music we include in worship. Our plan is to have the in-person workshop completed by 1pm. In addition to that workshop, we will hold a ZOOM workshop for those of you who worship online. That workshop will start at 2pm on October 25.
Please let us know if you plan to attend by emailing Jim Lamb jimlamb17@gmail.com and Val Dowd webmaster@emmanuelunited.ca or by signing up on a sign-up sheet in the narthex. Let us know whether you would like to attend the in-person workshop or the ZOOM workshop. We are hoping to have a good representation from the different age and cultural demographics in our community.
Whether you plan to attend the workshop or not, please complete the poll included with this invitation. Here’s the link:

If you are not comfortable with a Google Poll, we are including a document that you can print, mark up and drop off in Jim Lamb’s mail slot at church. Please complete the poll by Sunday, October 18 so that we can focus the workshop discussions based on the directions indicated in the poll. We will send out a copy of the workshop questions to those attending the workshops so they can consider their answers ahead of time.
We hope to see you at one of the workshops,
Jim Lamb
